This large diameter cover works well on dinner plates and is easy to grasp for removal via the indented handle on top. The cover is vented, but not so much that all moisture escapes. This helps food remain moist during reheating, which I find enhances the quality of most things.
At approximately 3" high, it covers most things you'd be heating on a plate, and although it does cover a standard soup bowl, there is little or no room above the bowl, which is fine for soup, but not if the bowl is heaped with something.
When I purchased this cover, I also purchased the dome shaped cover, and actually like and use both. The dome cover is better for taller things, for example steaming vegetables in a serving bowl, but I can't remove it from the oven by the handle because it's so tall. It's not a big deal; I just have to use both hands to grasp it by the sides, but for standard plated fare, I find this cover easier.
Both covers are large and may not fit in a small oven, but certainly have improved the quality of my microwaved food now that I have a larger oven. They also reduce oven cleanup and are easy to rinse clean if they get splattered. I recommend them both, but I use this one the most.

I read all the reviews and one said be sure to measure well I did, however I forgot to measure front to back forgetting about the turning.
You need a big microwave.

It's OK for the money, I think. Not as deep as I expected, handle is little slippery when you touch with wet fingers. You can buy the same stuff everywhere in Walmart for $2.00

These covers are great! No more using plastic wrap, paper, or anything else to cover the food we microwave. Works on any size plate, and our dinner plates are large. There is plenty of room above the plate which is good, because we sometimes heat 2 plates of food on one plate, then split, so having the higher cover is much better. So far there are no negatives except for this, and it isn't really a negative it is a question:
I've been trying to find some documentation online relating to possible toxins in this type of plastic/polymer. So far I've been only able to find good things about polypropylene, but have not been able to find anything relating to microwaving it.

I bought this microwave several years ago. Shortly after i got it i noticed the numbers of the clock/timer were wearing out. Before long you couldn't tell the difference between 1:00 and 8:00, because all but the left side of the minute indicator had stopped working. Over time more and more buttons on the keypad stopped responding. The 'start' button no longer works, so now i can't input specific times. I can just click "minute plus" and then stand there and stop it early if i want less time than that. The popcorn buttons still works, and that has always popped corn very well. Anyway, it's almost unusable at this point, which is why i'm shopping for a new (and definitely different) unit.

As other reviewers have mentioned, underneath all the carefully placed, protective plastic that keeps this microwave shiny, Sharp sticks a little card on the very front of the door. The card is stuck to the microwave door with a potent, stubborn glue, so I went out and purchased some goof off (about $7), a product made for removing such sticky residues. The goof off corroded the front of the microwave, completely ruining the black, plastic cover aesthetically. I called Sharp customer "service" to see if they could send me the plastic part that was ruined. They had put the glue on it to begin with and it seemed like reasonable customer service. (I can't imagine that it costs more than $1 to make the little piece.) They would not, so I asked if I could buy the part. The customer service was _completely_ unhelpful. Finally, (calls later) I tried to simply get them to help me find the _name_ of the I needed or the part number, so I could order it from someone else. (A very small number of retailers and "Sharp service centers" sell parts for these microwaves, but most don't have pictures or have the parts on-hand and finding the exact part I needed was almost impossible.) They refused to help with with this as well. (When I finally found the part I needed from Andrew's electronics, it was over $40, not including shipping.) Overall, I think I had a problem that could have been solved very easily and at little cost with good customer service, but Sharp's service was abominable. (Specifically, I spoke with Jason at approximately 2:35 pm EDT on 9/30/09 and then Camille (sp?) at about 3:00 pm on 9/30/09.)
Finally, after I thought I was stuck with an aesthetically ruined microwave, I called Amazon and told them about my problem. They said they were totally backing the product and allowed me to return it for a full refund. They even paid return shipping. Needless to say, I was _extremely_ impressed with Amazon.

I just received this product and it is being returned today. It looks great on the outside but it is cheaply made and makes a very loud noise when operable. I should have read these reviews more carefully before placing the order. I am a huge Amazon customer and must admit this was my only disappoinment. Bought this microwave from here at Amazon on April 27, 2007. Yesterday, December 4, 2009, it died. Proper use and location, no spectacular cooking feats, just normal, manual approved use. No unusual noises. Darn thing just shut down with no display at all and no response from any buttons. Grounded outlet tested fine, not an electrical issue from power source. So, now I have a dead microwave. Big disappointment.

I honestly havent bought a microwave since the 80's because every house I ever had had one already installed but I live in an apt now which was not equipped with a microwave so I bought one on amazon.
This unit is easy to use and easy on the eyes. Since I'll only be using it for tv dinners and warming up food, my understanding of the unit is limited but I will tell you Ive had no problems with it. It works wonderfully and I think if I wanted, I could put a medium sized turkey in there!!!
I would highly recommend this unit. It works beautifully.

After having a Kenmore that lasted less than 15 months, I am extremely pleased with the Panasonic. Of course, it is new, but really works great and I believe the Panasonic is top of the line. I am especially pleased with the Sensor Reheating. It never burns anything and I do a lot of reheating. I would highly recommend this model.

This microwave is great. Easy to use and it warms up the food evenly. This is one of the best microwaves I've owned.
The only problem is that it was shipped in a box that was slapped together with short lengths of tape. The original box was not used and the fabricated box was falling apart. I don't know why this was done. The microwave was fine, not a scratch... miraculously! The shipper just didn't care I guess.

I got this product about a month ago to replace a Samsung that finally died after years of use and abuse.
So far so good - it's easy to use, does it's job and does it well. I agree with the other reviewer who said it's good with potatoes - I've baked sweet potatoes in it and they cook perfectly!
My only concern is the keypad feels a bit flimsy - not too sure how that will hold up over time, especially if you're heavy-handed about punching in the numbers. Also, the buttons are on the small side which could be an issue for those with bigger hands. But overall, this little microwave is a big value for the price, so for now I'm rating it 5 stars.

My son reports that he couldn't be more plesed with this compact oven's performance. I was also quite satisfied with the R-230KK's price, and the speed with which it was shipped, and delivered.

I bought this microwave in Jan 2009. It worked fine for 11 months then quit. It gave no notice of any issues, just suddenly developed a sharp buzzing rattle in the engine and stopped heating the food. From the other reviews, this is an issue with this model, so I would not suggest buying it.

I recently moved into an office and needed a small microwave to reheat my meals and cook popcorn. Needless to say this product suits my needs completely!
Besides doing the standard reheating of my lunch that I bring, it cooks popcorn perfectly with the short cut button (one of BIGGEST pet peeves is the burned popcorn due to inaccurate popcorn settings!)
Conclusion: If you are looking for a great microwave for your dorm room or office, this is a great product, but if you want it for more heavy duty cooking for your home, then I'd probably look for something that's a little bigger and powerful

I bought this microwave exactly one year ago. Two days ago it started making this horrible loud sound and does not cook food anymore. I have always taken good care of it, so I can't see any reason for this problem. It was not the most expensive microwave, but it wasn't cheap either! I would expect it last longer than one year!

Had OK Sharp MWs for years, but this was a lemon. Burned popcorn. Got noisy, then failed after 6 months. Local "Factory" service (Eugene, OR) was a hole-in-the-wall, looked like a Droid repair shop out of Star Wars. Decades-old MWs and parts stacked up to the ceiling. I had to call daily for 3 weeks to get it back. Then used sparingly for a month ... got noisy and failed again.
Got an LG. We'll see. My experience with this Sharp product is consistent with recent experience a wide variety of consumer products made in China: even when I get a good product, if I buy the same product again, then it's different (e.g., garden nozzles, exercise shoes). So my guess is that there really aren't "Sharp" MWs, just a variety of look-alike MWs made in any number of Chinese sweat shops with a Sharp label. No way to tell if your product came from the right sweat shop on the right day.
If service matters to you, then I'd go to the Sharp site, ID your local "Factory" service provider, and check it out before you buy. BTW, disregard my Cincinnati address. I'm in Eugene, OR now. But couldn't change profile.
